TE SubCom is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Eatontown, NJ location. This Mechanical Testing Engineer position requires a creative and innovative technical professional with strong attention to detail, capable of assembling and maintaining different laboratory testing equipment and tools to perform critical tests.
Responsibilities:
Supporting our R&D community with undersea cable/hardware testing programs.
Design, execute, and document testing programs that involve high pressure tests, high tension tests, high voltage tests, high temperature tests, and a combination of the above on undersea cable, housings, seals, and fiber.
This engineer needs to be able to work on control systems and data acquisition systems to set-up tests, collect data, and provide reports.
The individual will be interfacing with external testing facilities and will travel to set-up and conduct tests away from our home facilities.
Qualifications:
0-3 years experience required, previous internship experience preferred.
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering required, Masters degree preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to rapidly provide testing status, conclusions, and documentation.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams with many people requesting different types of tests.
Knowledge of Qualification test methods.
Skilled in Pro Engineer/Ansys/CAD/Control Systems or equivalent.
Knowledge and comfort around mechanical hardware and machinery is critical.
Ability to use a large variety of equipment to machine parts and set-up tests capable of duplicating undersea physical situations is essential.
The ability to effectively discuss and develop tests in cooperation with other engineers, write test plans, present results, and generate technical reports is an essential skill for this position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
